„ A real taekwondo student gets to know all parts of this sport” – this is the thesis of the Máté brothers and it was valid for this year’s one-week-long taekwondo camp.

60 people did serious work with huge discipline during 7 days, from 6 August to 12 August in the one-week-long training camp in Battonya. This was the 16th camp in a row and as in the previous years there were some surprising novelties as well, thanks to the organization of Máté Taekwondo.

The schedule we prepared made possible that the children could rest and spend time in the swimming pool and then continue the training stronger and with fresh mind. The schedule was prepared by master Zsolt Máté for this week, which stood on three legs, poomsae, fight and extreme taekwondo – said Gergő Máté, one of the leaders of the club. He added that the participants varied in age from the young children up to adults in this international camp. The participants were divided into groups, therefore everybody got the level of training necessary for his / her belt degree. The trainings were exciting, as trainers from other clubs held classes also. This year trainers and students from 6 clubs were training and developing together during this one week and 2 clubs came from Romania. There were students from the every part of Hungary, for instance from Golden Tiger Club from Pécs.

Elmélet nélkül nincs gyakorlat. Kéz a kézben járnak. Erre most külön hangsúlyt fektetett a Máté Taekwondo Egyesület, hiszen az egyik nap arról szólt, hogy a sportág alapelemeit, a mozgásgyakorlatokat, a formai küzdelmeket, a versenyszámokat először elméletben átismételték, majd ezt egy kisebb csapat a gyakorlatban is élesítette. Így válhatott a fejbéli elméleti tudás igazi mozgássá a testben.

There is no practice without theory, they are hand in hand with each other and it was emphasized by Máté Taekwondo as well. One day was spent with repeating the basics of this sport and then they practised in small groups. This way theory became practice.

The international line was strengthened by Norbert Lengyel trainer from Marosvásárhely and his group, the Taekwondo Revolution. They came together with students from Kolozsvár (Dynamic Taekwondo Club). It is their second camp here and the Máté brothers set an example to follow for them. This year’s camp was even better than last year’s. It embraced all parts of taekwondo, which was very good. I consider myself a fight trainer and that’s what I can teach my students. But here my 15 students got a glimpse to those parts which are not even present in Romania. This was very special for us. – said Norbert. He added that the program was planned perfectly because otherwise not even half of it could have been fulfilled.

In the beginning we took away their mobiles and on the last day, even though they got them back, they did not use them. They had such a good time that I will not be able to put them on the bus tomorrow. – said Norbert.

The domestic part was strengthened by Attila Németh head coach and his small group from the Yellow Sea Club from Budapest. The one week training camp is work for us, trainers. But the children got many types of training, from extreme taekwondo to poomsae from all branches of this sport to try. They learned most from the acrobatic part, since the Máté brothers have incredible knowledge in this field in Hungary. – said Attila Németh, then added, the magic of novelties and the development could be seen every day. Finally he said „It was surprising that there was no bottom point during the week. The company was so good, the physical part of the trainings were built up so well that the participants practiced even during relax time.

A bemutatók fontosságára való figyelemfelhívás mindenképpen olyan gondolat, amit hazavisznek a klubjukhoz.

High level, persistance, homeliness – said Zoltán Sándor and Sefton Rose the trainers of Universum Taekwondo and Hapkido individually but in agreement. They told that the trainings were planned very well technically and pedagogically. The thought of the importance of demonstrations was the most important for them to take home. Sefton Rose trainer emphasized that the high level knowledge and education gave them a significant development. But to keep this level they have to train more and although the trainings are tough they gave them joy.

Kata Sárai and Milán Kucsera finished this one week very tired but smiling. They had been preparing to come here for more than 2 months, since the camp at the beginning of this summer.” This was the 5th camp I participated in. I learned many new things in poomsae, music poomsae, in extreme taekwondo and in fight also. The whole team got along very well and I am waiting for next year’s camp very much.” – said Kata.

Milán egy mércét állított fel saját maga elé, amit nagy részben sikerült is meglépnie. Fejlődött két rúgás formában is. „Eldöntöttem, ha ezek a rúgások tananyagok lesznek, akkor maximálisan odateszem magam. Jövőre pedig a küzdelemre szeretném helyezni a hangsúlyt, abban szeretnék fejlődni.” – tette hozzá.

Milán set a standard for himself, that he managed to complete more or less. He became better in two types of jump. „I decided that if these jumps are in the curriculum I will do my best. Next year I would like to put emphasis on fight, I would like to develop there also.” – he added.

Everybody got his/her share of novelties and excitement in the first week of August. It was true for Mirabella, the sister of Gergő and Zsolt Máté, who was participant and trainer as well this year. „I taught stretching for the participants during more trainings which is very important in this martial art. Besides I taught a music poomsae choreography that both the younger and the older participants studied very quickly.” – said Mirabella. She had no fear to stand in front of the team of 60 people and to teach them.

És hogy az újdonságokból a végére is jusson, zenés taek-bo órákkal is fűszerezték a heti edzés adagot a résztvevők, akikhez idén bárki csatlakozhatott. Tették is két alkalommal, élvezve a mozgás örömét, s maguk mögött hagyva a napi feszültséget.

The training camp was spiced up with taekbo classes, which were open for everybody, to enjoy physical activity and to leave stress.

168 hours of stamina, discipline and work. Joy and fatigue, a team, education and laughter. And possibility… „These trainings are the basic for the children of Vásárhely. For us Romanians it is not. Others sacrificed and would sacrifice a lot to participate in these kind of trainings. Thank you very much to get a glimpse of doing this sport on such a high level.” (Norbert Lengyel, Marosvásárhely)
